Hatha Yoga with Kara
(Mon: 8:15am & 9:30am, Tues: 6:10pm & 7:15pm, Sat: 08:15am).
Kara has been working as a freelance dancer, choreographer and teacher since graduating in 2002 with a 2:1 BA Hons in Creative Arts: Dance and Visual Arts. Alongside her dance training and career, Kara has been practising yoga for 11 years over which time her passion and interest to learn more has grown.
We also have other qualified yoga teachers as cover who are all as qualified, so if Kara is away, you will still be well looked after!
Yoga improves strength and flexibility, as well as relaxing the mind and helping to de-stress. The main components of yoga are postures and breathing. Yoga is also safe and a effective way to increase physical activity and balance.
Kara aims to create a relaxed and fun atmosphere to her classes as well as challenging and embracing the needs of each individual.
Yin Yoga with Kara
(Mon at 10.45am).
Yin Yoga postures are held for 3-5 minutes whilst sitting or lying with a passive body. This practice lends itself to introspection and mindfulness as you’re invited to slow down, take stock and stay in posture – even when the stretch feels intense. Yin is a wonderful compliment to yang styles of yoga such as dynamic flow and ‘yang’ sports such as running, cycling and weight training.
Teen Yoga with Maddie
How about helping your teens to relieve some of the pressure & stress that can often build up in young peoples lives by giving them the opportunity to join our Tuesday evening yoga sessions!
This course is specifically tailored to suit and meet the needs of teenagers. The movements will help increase flexibility and strengthen the body, poses will increase concentration, focus and will help to improve posture and finally stillness will encourage the mind and body to relax.
