It’s all about Wellness…..

How to try to get that balance and wellness in your life

It’s that week of the year when many of us are returning from summer holidays, the kids are back at school, the nights are drawing in and our thoughts are returning to work and for many of us a kick start to a healthy lifestyle after many indulgent meals out and a few too many ice-creams!

September is a great opportunity to take stock of where you have been and where you would like to be both mentally and physically and to start focusing on your overall wellness. Instead of a quick fix diet or exercise plan, look to mindfully anchor wellness in your every day life by incorporating healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better physical and mental health outcomes, so that instead of just surviving, you’re thriving!

On Saturday the 29th September from 9:30am – 4:30pm we are delighted to offer our “Wellness Day”. Come along for the whole or 1/2 day to listen, take part and meet new people who can help you deal with the stresses and strains of modern life and provide you with coping mechanisms or simply answer questions on how to eat, sleep and function better. The day will include Yoga with Kara Herbert a mindfullness session with Isobel Arnold and nutritious lunch and talk from Laura Hilton, aTRE session (Natural stress & tension release talk) with  Deborah Maddison and afternoon tea and cakes from Cup Of Tea and The Wildflour Cake Company. Places are limited so please book in advance by clicking on the following link:

Wellness is a process of becoming aware and making balanced choices towards a healthy and fulfilling life. Don’t deny yourself of the pleasures you enjoy in life. Denial can be more destructive than eating that delicious piece of cake or drinking your daily cup of tea. Simply learn to eat, drink and exercise properly. Instead of eating over processed food choose an organic, locally made cake such as those from our friends at Wildflour Cakes. Driven by a strong ethos of using fresh, wholesome and natural ingredients and leaving out all of the nasty preservatives or substitutes. They also offer gluten free and vegan ranges, believing that no one should have to compromise on cake –

The same applies to caffeine. Studies have shown that drinking more than four cups can be bad for you, while others claim that the hot drink is good for you and that one cup of tea a day can reduce the risk of ovarian cancer. Ignore them all and think about what is good for you and focus on drinking the very best you can. The leaves used in many tea bags are actually the dust and fanning from broken tea leaves, instead when buying tea consider its quality and put this at the top of your priorities. Our local friends Cup Of Tea make this their priority and source exquisite, orthodox-produced teas from around the world. All of their teas are produced using the finest handpicked tealeaves and their range is vast from green, black and white teas, oolong and infusions. Why not squeeze out every last drop of Summer with their range of delicious fruit teas. Not only can out purchase a vast array of tea from their website but they also offer excellent advice and tips on how to brew the prefect cup of tea and the benefits of each tea-
