I was introduced to Balance as a birthday gift from my wife and daughter who had both realised I was not going to get fit by myself. I had been in the armed forces and was determined to stay fit when I came out. However, due to work being more desk bound and commuting I realised this had just slipped away and the weight had pilled on. I have just finished my 2nd 5 week block with Sue and have lost 6 inches from my waist and feel fitter and stronger. Sue also encouraged me to try one of the many classes they run to supplemet my training and as such I have been taking part in the kettlercise class once a week too. This has really helped with stamina and strength. As a personal trainer Sue is encouraging and is an excellent mentor and works with you to ensure you reach your goals – Jez Cox

I have Been going to the Ski Fit class since November. It really helped to get my body ready for 10 days skiing in January. Since we’ve carried on going and the improvement on body strength is quite dramatic. I Highly recommend this class in a lovely and personal environment….The class has now turned into a HITT fit for Summer and I am loving it – Christine Collins

I’ve been going to Balance Lifestyle and Fitness since April 2015 and would recommend it to anybody. The gym is small and personal and spotlessly clean. Its a really pleasant place to be. Sue is fantastic – she’s such an inspiration. Always upbeat and positive, she’s very friendly and would put even the most nervous, first time gym user at ease. I’ve been going to the Yoga class, which I love. On sunny mornings, we’ve even been able to go outside onto the decking and take in the beautiful view of the Cam valley whilst doing our Sun Salutations! More recently, I’ve been going to Sara’s kettlecise class which is such fun. Its really intense but Sara is great at getting you to go for it. I’m running my first Marathon in April (at age 47) and without the help of Balance, I’m not sure where I’d be. But with the help of Sue and the team, I am really starting to believe I can do it – Kirsty Roberts

I came to Balance to try our some personal training with Sue, and to be perfectly honest I was a bit unsure.  There is little evidence of the machine systems I had been used to training with before. They only have a rower and a bike for cardio, however there are other ways to get my heart pumping, running the step, hill sprints, burpees and mountain climbers to name but a few!

After a few weeks of body weight exercises, TRX, Weights and cardio I began to feel the difference and there is so much more to training than just using machines.

We stretch and use all the various exercises in an interval training format which is both hard and interesting as one week is never the same and the progression has been fantastic.

I would thoroughly recommend both Sue and Sarah at Balance and would encourage both men and women to give this type of training a try. I am fitter stronger and more energized as a result of this program. Jon Thorner ( Jon Thorner meats )

 

I am really pleased because the first time in 25 years I have gone to the chiropractor and my legs were the same length and my lower back did not need treatment. This is thought because of the exercise I have been doing twice a week at PACE classes (4 months work.). Amanda Ryan

Kara is an inspirational teacher, able to share her deep knowledge and experience of many styles of yoga.
We were received with a warm welcome and Sue and her team provided us with a Delicious healthy lunch and a well earned treat of tea and vegan cakes at the end of the day. All hosted in a fabulous setting.
