Mairi Connelly who is fully qualified from the Pilates Institute in London has been teaching Pilates and one to one personal training for over 10 years. This course is aimed at people who want to strengthen core, abdominal and back muscles. There will be a maximum of 8 participants in this class. Mairi teaches Beginners and Improvers classes in the evening at Balance.
Tessa teaches Pilates in the daytime on Thursdays for all levels at Balance. Tessa has been teaching for many years at Babington House and Pure Moves and also qualified in Pilates mat work in London. She has extensive knowledge about facia release through soft rolling. Come and enjoy a class with her and feel relaxed and realigned.
Pilates is an exercise system that focuses on developing strong stomach muscles & core strength, stretching and strengthening the whole body to improve balance, muscle strength, flexibility and posture. Pilates will help to relieve back pain, stress and tension.
It is also an excellent way to tighten and lift weak pelvic floor muscles, particularly following surgery or childbirth. The course will be aimed at complete beginners or those who have not practised for over 12 months.
There will also be practical steps to minimise back pain, relaxation and breathing techniques. The classes are held in an informal, friendly, welcoming and non-competitive environment. All participants will be requested to complete an enrolment form to ensure that you only perform exercises safely.
